PAC Mandate (Peer Ambassador Committee)

Members of the PAC are full-time returning students who are hired for two primary purposes:
i) Helping peers in coping with school life and social pressures, by providing confidential support in a non-judgmental way; and
ii) Helping to continually improve student life on the Kingston campus of St. Lawrence College.


JOB DESCRIPTION

Peer Ambassadors are fourteen outstanding returning students hired for the purpose of helping their fellow students either personally or through student life initiatives set out by the Student Association or determined at the PAC meetings.  Peer Ambassadors would collaborate with other students in the residence, on the student government, with counselling and with the athletics/student life staff. Peer Ambassador duties entail the following:

·         Act as a peer helper and provide support to fellow students;

·         Provide links to College and community resources;

·         Serve at various functions such as orientation and school fairs;

·          Required to serve office hours;

·          Develop and implement school activities and information events;

·          To be actively involved in student life and athletics on campus

·          Some fund-raising involved (e.g., for PAC Bursary).

·          Kiosk Front Line Information/Concierge Staff 

*** This is a job bursary position that is posted at the beginning of April each year.  Students are asked to provide a resume and a letter of recommendation/reference from their program coordinator.  They are also asked to answer three questions about why they want to be a PAC member and what they have to offer the team.
***  Those students selected will be interviewed during the Spring/Summer months and those hired must attend a mandatory week long training session the week prior to the College year start up.
